Write to us and say which one you need. We will check with our partners whether it can be added and quote the registration and renewal price straight away.

Write to us

In .pl and .eu we work with the registry directly

In these two extensions there is no intermediary between you and the registry. The rest go through partners.

A NASK partner

The Polish extension is run by NASK, the state research institute. We are its partner, and .pl requests go straight there.

EURid accreditation

The .eu extension is run by EURid on the European Commission’s mandate. We hold its accreditation, so we handle .eu ourselves too.

Every other extension

International and thematic ones are registered through partners. The contract, the invoice and the support stay ours.

Transferring a domain to us

The name stays yours; only the registrar changes. A transfer does not touch the DNS records, so the site and the email keep working.

STEP 1

Get the transfer code

At your current registrar, unlock the transfer and request the transfer code, authinfo or EPP. While you are there, check that the domain administrator’s mailbox is readable: the confirmation goes to it.

STEP 2

Place the order

Enter the domain name and the transfer code in the client area and pay for the order. From there the request goes to the registry.

STEP 3

Wait for confirmation

The registry completes the transfer, and the timing differs from one extension to another: minutes in some, several days in others. The status is visible in the client area.

What people usually take along with a domain

A domain is only a name. For a site to open at it, a few more things are needed.

DNS hosting

A DNS zone on our servers, for a domain registered here or with another registrar.

Choose DNS hosting →

SSL certificate

HTTPS on this domain: without a certificate the browser marks the site as not secure.

Choose a certificate →

Hosting for the site

Space for the site and the email, so the domain leads to a page rather than a registrar’s placeholder.

Common questions about domains

What people ask before registering or transferring.

How long does registering a domain take?

Registration is automatic and runs around the clock: once the owner details are entered and the order is paid, it usually goes through in a few minutes. In some extensions the registry checks the owner details separately, and then it takes longer.

Who is the domain registered to?

To you. When you place the order, the client area asks for the owner details, and those are what go to the registry. Host4Biz acts as the registrar, not as the owner of the name.

Why is renewal more expensive than registration?

The first-year price and the renewal price are two different registry prices, and in some extensions the first year is cheaper. That is why both prices stand side by side in the table: next year’s amount should not come as a surprise.

Do I need hosting to register a domain?

No, a domain can be held on its own. Host4Biz DNS servers are connected to it at no charge, and hosting, email and an SSL certificate can be added later.

What is needed to transfer a domain from another registrar?

The transfer code (authinfo or EPP) from the current registrar, and the transfer lock removed. The registry sends the confirmation to the domain administrator’s mailbox, so it has to be reachable. A transfer does not change the DNS records, and the site and the email keep working.

How is .pl different from .com.pl?

Both are Polish and both are run by NASK. A .pl name is shorter and reads as the main one; .com.pl is usually taken when the name you want is already registered in .pl. Registration costs the same in both, and renewal of .com.pl is cheaper.

What currency is a domain paid in?

Prices on the site are shown in dollars, and the currency switch in the header converts them at the current rate. The final amount and the available payment methods are shown by the client area when you place the order.

Can I register a domain with national characters?

Yes, the name can be entered in Cyrillic or with Polish diacritics. The check converts it to punycode itself, the form in which registries store such names: mójsklep becomes xn--mjsklep-l0a. You see the familiar spelling in the results, while the client area and the registry record the domain in punycode, and that is not an error. Whether a particular extension supports such names is decided by its registry, and the check will show it.

Have the domain, but the project needs a server?

VPS and dedicated servers in Warsaw and Zurich, with full access to the machine and resources of your own.

Go to servers →

Ready to take the name?

The check takes a few seconds. If the name is free, the client area shows the price and completes the registration, and the domain is registered to you.
