A mass attack on the MODX Evolution CMS

We are warning our users with sites on the MODX Evolution CMS of a danger: specialists at Revisium report the start of a mass attack on this content management system.

The attacks began in the first days of June and repeated ten days later. There is also information that every compromised installation was MODX Evolution earlier than 1.0.14 and contained a vulnerability in AjaxSearch earlier than 1.10.1.

More detail about it can be found here.

For our part, we remind you of the need to update content management systems and their plugins regularly and to make backups of your data without fail.

For users of our shared hosting service such copies are created automatically every day and are available in the service's control panel.

And for users of our VPS servers, dedicated servers, and for customers whose sites are not with us yet :), we suggest using our backup hostingservice. With it you will protect your data reliably from the unwanted consequences of break-ins and failures, and our plans let you do it on the smallest possible budget — from $3 for 100 GB a month.
