The data center in Warsaw where our servers stand

The largest telecommunications campus in Poland, and the head office of its operator Atman.

  • The data stays in EU jurisdiction
  • Seven physical security zones
  • Two of our Warsaw data centers, linked by our own fiber

PL-1 · Atman WAW-1 site · Warsaw, Poland

  • ISO 27001, PCI DSS and DCOS-4
  • 6,496 m² of server halls
  • Backup power: UPS and diesel generators
  • Engineers on site around the clock
  • Carrier neutral: access to carriers
  • 100% renewable energy

What this site is

PL-1 stands in the Atman WAW-1 campus, one of the operator’s three campuses in Warsaw: eight data center buildings on one site. Atman keeps its head office here too, so the operator works on the site itself.

  • 12.1 MW of IT power
  • Two independent power feeds into every rack
  • The building was built as a data center, not converted into one

What protects your data

Several independent lines stand between a city failure and your server.

If the power goes out

The UPS picks up the load at once and the diesel generators follow, and the equipment never notices a gap. Power arrives over dedicated medium-voltage lines, and two independent feeds run into the rack.

Temperature in the halls

Precision cooling runs in an N+1 layout: one air conditioner failing does not affect a hall. The halls are divided into cold and hot aisles, and temperature and humidity stay in a narrow range all year.

If a fire starts

Early smoke detection catches ignition before open flame, and suppression is by gas, with no water and no damage to equipment. The building is divided into fire compartments that hold a fire inside one of them.

Who can come in

The site is divided into seven physical security zones, and each next one admits fewer people. Entry is by personal cards, guards and video surveillance work around the clock, and a visitor is always escorted through the building.

Connecting to carriers

The site is carrier neutral: several carriers are present in the meet-me room, and the data center does not restrict connecting to them.

Who has checked this

The site is audited independently on a regular basis: ISO 27001 for information security, PCI DSS for handling payment data, and DCOS-4, the industry standard for data center operations. For its colocation services the operator publishes SOC 1 and SOC 2 reports.

Host4Biz servers and network in PL-1

In this campus our equipment is connected inside the site and to PL-2 over our own fiber.

Our own hardware

The equipment in PL-1 belongs to Host4Biz. We plan the server configurations and the spare capacity, so the infrastructure behind the service is ours to run.

Paired network layout

Duplicated links run to every rack and the switches work in pairs. One path or one device failing should not cut a node off the network.

We control the routing ourselves

The external links and the autonomous system are ours, so routing is never handed to the data center or to a third-party provider. Between the racks the network runs at 100 Gbps.

A private LAN between the sites

PL-1 is linked to PL-2 by redundant Host4Biz fiber. The equipment of one project can be joined into a separate local network on one site or across both, without going out to the internet.

Why we chose this campus

Certification for payment data, a choice of carriers, and room to grow.

PCI DSS and audit reports

The certification is confirmed for the site itself, and the operator publishes SOC 1 and SOC 2 reports for its colocation services. This describes the building and the operator’s processes; it does not cover the requirements on your own application and payment flow. If your project needs this particular site, write to support before ordering.

Carriers

Several carriers are present on the site, so we can pick between them or add another one without moving to a different data center.

Room to grow

The campus has 12.1 MW of IT power across eight buildings, so there is room on the site. In practice a project is limited by the spare capacity on our side, and we check it before an order.

What you can order with placement in Warsaw

You choose the service and the Polish location. If a physical server needs a particular site, PL-1 or PL-2, agree it with support before ordering.

Linux VPS

Five NVMe plans, KVM virtualization and root access. They fit websites, stores, CRM, APIs and working services.

Questions about the data center in Warsaw

Where Host4Biz equipment stands and what that gives a project.

Where are the Host4Biz servers in Warsaw?

Our Warsaw infrastructure stands in two independent data centers, PL-1 and PL-2. This page is about PL-1, which sits in the Atman WAW-1 campus. The sites are joined by our own redundant fiber link.

Can I order a server in Warsaw?

Yes. Warsaw offers Linux VPS, Windows VPS and dedicated servers. If you are unsure about the configuration, describe the job and we will help pick the service.

Can I choose which data center my server goes to?

The site is not chosen at the order: the country is set by the plan. Swiss plans run in Zurich and Polish plans in Warsaw, where we have two data centers in one city joined by our internal network.

What happens if an internet provider has an outage?

The site is not tied to one carrier: the cables enter the building from different directions and from different suppliers. Trouble at one of them does not leave the site without connectivity.

How does Warsaw differ from Zurich?

The Warsaw site is in Poland, under EU jurisdiction. The Zurich one is in Switzerland, outside the EU. All the sites can be compared on the data centers page.
