A site on Joomla. A review of what the CMS can do

Joomla is a free content management system (CMS) suitable for building any kind of site. Joomla's source code is open, which makes it possible to change the system's core. On top of that, the CMS has plenty of modules for extending its functionality. Saving a classic: MMHEROES

Back in 2001 students of the mathematics and mechanics faculty of St Petersburg State University wrote an excellent DOS game about student life: MMHEROES. Later, in 2012, enthusiasts ported the game to JavaScript, and for a while a great many people amused themselves with it and remembered their student years. Sadly, no working official mirror of the web version has survived. We decided to put that right and not let a fine program vanish into the thickets of history. So we pulled the game out of the web archive and made it publicly available (we did not fix the saving of high scores, though). Enjoy!    Enrol at the maths and mechanics faculty!

What they are, why they are free, which sites they suit and how they can be installed — you will learn from this article. Search engines and browser developers do everything they can to encourage webmasters to install SSL certificates on their sites. And rightly so, because transmitting data between servers over HTTP is unreliable and attackers can intercept the passwords, e-mail addresses, phone numbers and other data being sent. To speed up the adoption of SSL, Google's search robots began lowering the positions of sites without SSL in search results last year, while the Mozilla Firefox and Google Chrome browsers mark them as insecure. So site owners need to install SSL certificates on their sites.
